Simple living includes our approach to social medi Simple living includes our approach to social media! 🤳 I disagree with the view that social media is always inherently bad: there are risks and dangers due to sin just like in the physical world, but if you filter and limit your media usage properly, there can be a lot of beautiful aspects to this space as well. There is also nothing wrong with understanding how algorithms work, as long as you are authentic about how you use this knowledge. Personally I have experienced SO much encouragement here, and I hope to continue to encourage others as well. ♥️
The term “slow life” might not mean what you t The term “slow life” might not mean what you think it means.. 👩‍🌾 These days I am hearing some people speak negatively about the term “slow living”, without really understanding where or how this term originated. This misinterpretation of a term that reflects a cultural movement can cause misunderstanding regarding what exactly it means to live slowly. YES, you can have a slow life, even with children, and while working hard. Slow living does not mean laying around on the couch in robes while watching TV dramas (unless maybe you have the flu! 😂). It does not mean being slack in your work. It doesn’t mean that you never have crazy or busy days!! Slow living is about living well and with intentionality: the way that God intended for humans to work and worship. Homes should not be dusty self-serving museums of Homes should not be dusty self-serving museums of our possessions!! 🧹✨ As a mother, one of my favorite verses is Proverbs 14:4: “Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.” Sometimes having an abundant life means using our homes as more than just a display of stuff, and stewarding what we have for God’s glory. This does not mean that our homes should always be a mess!! But it does mean that our homes should be life-giving, and filled with joy, hospitality, and love. I don’t want to give my kids a 90’s or an 1800 I don’t want to give my kids a 90’s or an 1800’s childhood.. I just want to give them a childhood, period. ♥️ I love thrifted records and cassette tapes, antiques and feminine dresses, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I want to recreate the past. There is a reason our children are living now, and it is our job as parents to equip them for the unique challenges they might face. But first, I want them to play outside and get their hands dirty in the mud. To feel the sunshine. To gather around the table for family meals. To experience what it feels like to belong to a community. To know they are loved, and have a home.
